Are You Ready for Turkish Playoffs

Finishing the league with a 24-6 record, Beşiktaş, which will hold the home team advantage all through the playoffs, starts the series 1-0 up, since it won both regular season games against Banvitspor. The regular season’s best team Beşiktaş Cola Turka starts its hunt for the Turkish Basketball League title Saturday with the playoff first round series when it takes on underdog Banvitspor.

The opening game of the series is at Beşiktaş Cola Turka Arena in Akatlar, Istanbul. Tickets are priced from YTL 13-25 and available at Biletix. There is also an entire playoff ticket package for Beşiktaş, priced YTL 75-400. Other title chasers will take the stage Sunday. Fenerbahçe Ülker welcomes Antalya Municipality. The game at the Abdi İpekçi Sports Hall starts at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are priced YTL 6-11. The Efes Pilsen-Pınar Karşıyaka game at the same court is at 4:00 p.m.

The Türk Telekom-Galatasaray Café Crown series will be interesting, as the tie brings together different basketball mentalities. Telekom is the highest scoring team, while Galatasaray allows the least points in the league. The game at Ankara’s Atatürk Sports Hall starts at 7:30 p.m. The latter three series start 0-0, since no team could win both games in the regular season against its opponent.
